Got to love it!!!

Sharing this in a Church lesson tomorrow.

I've recently had a series of events in which I needed to help others. It was never this dramatic, but it did change people's lives. Having a firm testimony and being connected to the Spirit at all times is something each of us needs. There are always people around us that need our help, whether we know it or not. Being in tune with the spirit can help form bonds, and yes, save lives.

One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it’s worth watching.

We will die.

Will we be proud of what we have done?

Will we live our lives to the fullest serving, and making other people happy? 

Or will we seek self gratification? Trying to please ourselves.

Right before we die, we won't have any of our old fears, they will all be gone. Our fears are only what we give credence to. They exist because we ALLOW them to. Will you let your fears get in the way of living your life? Of serving others? Of sticking up for what you KNOW to be true?

There is a reason we were put here, and yes you need to learn how to control your self, but after you got that down and you mature, we need to serve others.

 We need to help, be kind, loving, in deed AND in thought.

The song I'm trying to be like Jesus comes to mind as I'm writing this.

"I'm trying to be like Jesus;

I'm following in his ways.

I'm trying to love as he did, in all that I do and say.

At times I am tempted to make a wrong choice,

But I try to listen as the still small voice whispers,

Love one another as Jesus loves you.

Try to show kindness in all that you do.

Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought,

For these are the things Jesus taught."

Expounding on the quote above, when we get our perfect bodies, will we be happy, thinking back on our lives? Will we wish we had done better? Been better people?

Will you be proud to show others your life?

A Doctor's decision

You are a very skilled doctor with five dying patients, each of whom needs a different organ in order to live. Unfortunately, there are no organs available to perform any of the transplants. It just so happens that you have a sixth dying patient, suffering from a fatal illness, who will die sooner than the other five if not treated. If this sixth patient dies, you will be able to use his organs to save the five other patients. However, you have a medicine you can give to this sixth patient that will cure his illness and he won’t die. 

What would you do?

If you chose to administer the medicine, would you still do so even if the medicine will not cure the patient, but, instead, delay his death to some short term future date or time after the five patients will have died? Why?

A Moral Dilemma While Spelunking

There is a group of 6 people spelunking in a cave, one of which is a 7 month along pregnant woman, and a 8 year old child..  We came in one part of the cave and traveled about a mile underground. The tide is rising and it's too far to reach the entrance now, and we are forced to leave out of a smaller exit which is closer. We have the pregnant lady leave first so that us five can take care of the gear, and help her out. Unfortunately she gets stuck on her way out and will not be able to move until emergency help comes. The tide is rising quickly now, and it will soon drown all of us except the pregnant lady, as her head is sticking above the water line. One of our hikers is a hunter who always carries a knife, and who is experienced with dismembering game animals. We can not get her out of the exit without using the knife which will inevitably kill her; but if we don't use the knife the five of us will die, including the child. You are the leader of the group. What would you do?
